Five tips for learning graphic design

Graphic design is an art that can be learned with passion and great willpower. To better understand this sector, here are five useful tips not to be forgotten.

Create a folder on the desktop or create a pinboard on Pinterest and collect jobs that you think are successful. This will help you identify trends and give you a working basis for deconstruction and analysis. It will also be an indicator of the type of work you are attracted to and the style you tend to prefer.

Start training your eyes to gather details in film, television, art and architecture. Every scene, brush stroke, background, color scheme, angle and placement have been intentionally used.

Analyze the design process of a graphic design services

Look carefully at the inspiration you have collected. How did the designer / creator implement the project? Try to understand the process they used and remember that basically every project was made using simple shapes - it's all in the way the designer combines them. See if you can understand the tools used or which element was designed first. It may be difficult at first, but the more you learn, the easier it will be to analyze the process.

By analyzing a wide variety of projects, you will learn that there are several ways to achieve the desired result.

Learn the terminology of design

After analyzing your inspiration, you may find that you want to search for a specific tutorial but your knowledge of design terminology is missing. This will probably lead to too broad results. Start by building on your terminology by browsing through a design glossary in order to get the right text for a specific style or technique.

Practice makes perfect

Now that you know how to search for the right technique or style, start looking for tutorials on YouTube or blogs in line with the style and niche that interest you. Be patient with yourself: no one can become a designer overnight. In the beginning, you will have to do many tutorials and create a lot of work, but over time the quantity should become quality once you start to grasp the tools and processes.

Don't be afraid of judgment

Once you have original designs, the next step is to get some constructive criticism from an expert designer. Don't let your ego get in the way and try to separate yourself as a person from your job. Listening to a critique of your work may be intimidating, but it's a great way to learn and improve. However, it is important to remember that the design is subjective and there is no need to agree with the feedback offered. Someone else's different opinion doesn't make you wrong, but make sure your reasoning is justified.
